Product Description

When the power goes out or severe weather disrupts normal communications, a battery-powered radio can help keep important information within reach.

The Emerson ER-7051 Emergency Radio combines AM/FM reception, NOAA weather band, an emergency siren, LED flashlight, and 4,000mAh rechargeable power bank in one compact unit designed for home, vehicle, camping, and emergency preparedness.

Multiple power options—including USB charging, solar charging, hand-crank generation, and backup AA batteries—give you several ways to keep the radio operating when conventional power isn't available.

NOAA Weather Band + AM/FM Radio

The ER-7051 provides three radio bands for news, weather information, and everyday listening:

  • FM: 87–108 MHz
  • AM: 520–1710 kHz
  • Weather Band: 162.4–162.55 MHz

NOAA weather-band reception can provide access to broadcasts from NOAA Weather Radio stations when reception is available in your area.

Important: The supplied specifications confirm NOAA weather-band support but do not state that the ER-7051 has automatic NOAA weather-alert activation. It should therefore be marketed as a NOAA weather-band radio, not an automatic weather-alert radio unless Emerson confirms that feature.

Multiple Emergency Power Options

A preparedness radio becomes more useful when it isn't dependent on one source of electricity.

The ER-7051 offers several power options:

USB Charging: Recharge the internal battery from a compatible USB power source.

Hand Crank: Generate supplemental power manually when another charging source isn't available.

Solar Panel: The integrated solar panel provides another method of replenishing the rechargeable battery when adequate sunlight is available.

AA Battery Backup: The radio can also operate using 3 AA batteries, according to the supplier.

AA batteries are not included.

Solar and hand-crank charging are best treated as supplemental emergency charging methods. Charging speed and usable runtime will depend on operating conditions and the amount of energy generated.

4,000mAh Rechargeable Battery

The integrated 4,000mAh battery powers the radio and its emergency functions while also allowing the ER-7051 to serve as a basic power bank.

That gives you another way to provide emergency power to compatible USB devices when maintaining communication matters.

USB-A Emergency Power Output

A built-in 5V/1.7A USB-A output allows the radio's internal battery to provide power to compatible devices.

This is particularly useful for topping up a phone or other small USB device during an outage.

Because the internal battery also powers the radio, flashlight, and other functions, using it as a power bank will reduce the energy remaining for those features. For emergency planning, conserve the battery for essential communication when appropriate.

Built-In LED Flashlight

The integrated LED emergency torch gives you an immediately accessible light source during nighttime outages, camping trips, roadside situations, or other low-light conditions.

A dedicated power switch provides straightforward flashlight operation.

Emergency Siren

The ER-7051 also includes an emergency siren, adding an audible signaling option when you need to attract attention.

Combined with the flashlight and weather radio, this turns the unit into more than a conventional AM/FM receiver.

Compact & Lightweight

At approximately 0.77 lb, the radio is light enough to move between your home emergency supplies, vehicle kit, RV, campsite, or evacuation gear.

A hand strap is included for easier carrying.

Emergency Preparedness Advantages

Emergency communications work best with redundancy.

The ER-7051 gives families access to broadcast radio without relying on cellular service, Wi-Fi, or household electricity, provided a suitable radio signal is available.

Its combination of rechargeable power, AA battery backup, solar input, and hand-crank generation provides additional options if an outage lasts longer than expected.

For stronger preparedness, keep fresh AA batteries and an additional charged power bank with the radio rather than relying solely on the hand crank or solar panel.
